Q : How to check Fares of different Trains Online?

A : You can check IRCTC Fare enquiry or the Train Fare Enquiry for any train of Indian Railways here at Indian Railways Fare Enquiry.
This is one of the fastest ways to get correct fare information and fare enquiry of trains in real time.
All you need to do is enter the Train Name or Number in box above, select the Travel Quota, Select the from & To Station Name to get the updated fare of that journey.
You can find Train Name or Number by just entering first 3 letters /digits and it will show you a list from which you can select the train. The Stations will be available to select depending upon train.
Fares of different Trains can also be checked at every station where booking counters are available for this purpose.

Q : How to check Fares of different Trains through SMS?

A : Not Possible. Indian Railways does not provide this facility.

Q : What does the Fares Enquiry headings mean?

A : Train Number: Number of the Train which is queried.
Train Name: Name of the Train which is queried.
From Station Name & Code: Name of the Station which from which journey starts.
To Station Name & Code: Name of the Station at which journey ends.
Travel Quota: The quota under which the booking will be done
Train Type: Type of the Train which is queried.

Q : What are different types of Classes in Fare Details?

A : 1A: Known as First Class AC, the fares of these seats are at par with airline tickets and offer berths and beddings. Not all trains have First AC coaches and the train seat availability for this class is limited.
2A: Also known as Second Class AC, the fare is slightly lesser than 1A. With just 48 passengers allowed in each 2A coach, make sure to check the Indian Railways seat availability chart in advance.
3A: Termed as Third Class AC, these have three bunk berths on each side. With beddings being included in the fare, these coaches are perfect for 64 passengers.
SL: The most popular choice among the majority of Indians, this is the non-air-conditioned sleeper coach but with bunks for passengers to sleep in. It is designed for 72 passengers. These tickets usually sell out quickly.
CC: Known as Chair Cars, these are fully air-conditioned and comprise of comfortable chairs that recline.
2S: These offer bench type seats for the passengers and are non-air-conditioned coaches.

A : If Fares Enquiry for your queried train is not delivered, the following reasons could be responsible:
1 - You entered an incorrect or invalid train number.
2 - You entered an incorrect or invalid station.
3 - Indian Railways server is down or overloaded.
